Course description
This course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the challenges in managing future reproduction in the context of declining fertility rates and the growing demands for fertility preservation in both benign and oncological conditions. Through case-based discussions, participants will explore the most effective approaches to offering egg freezing and ART in complex clinical scenarios. Implications of using frozen gametes and discussing emerging alternative strategies in reproductive medicine will also be addressed.

Educational needs and expected outcomes

This course explores:

  • Both clinical and ethical dimensions essential for providing optimal reproductive health care in the context of fertility preservation
  • Basic knowledge of ovarian physiology and stimulation protocols
  • Active participation is encouraged throughout the program, especially during case report discussions, to foster collaborative learning and critical thinking

By the end of the course, participants will have:

  • Developed a solid understanding of ovarian stimulation approaches and endocrinological impacts in specific benign and oncological conditions, grounded in evidence-based practice and expert opinion
  • Acquired deeper knowledge of the current challenges related to ovarian aging and fertility decline
  • Obtain new perspectives to enhance patient counselling.

Innovative aspects of the course
The innovative aspect of this course lies in its transdisciplinary approach, incorporating societal and ethical considerations, endocrinological issues, and practical fertility preservation challenges, explored through clinical case discussions.

Target audience
Healthcare professionals, including endocrinologist, fertility preservation specialists, gynaecologists, reproductive health specialists, as well as psychologist, nurses and scientists in reproductive medicine
